Programme Director · Manager · Troubleshooter · Consultant

I lead complex programmes, rescue the ones in trouble, and build practical things that ship.

Twenty-five years delivering business and IT solutions — data, infrastructure, telecoms, applications, supply chain, trade compliance — across some of the most regulated industries there are. That breadth was built by doing the work in each, not just supervising it. Hands-on enough to build it; senior enough to run it.

Open to work

Available, and choosing carefully.

Open to permanent, contract or interim engagements. Based in Hampshire with easy reach of London, Heathrow and Europe — happy to work remotely or hybrid, across the UK and EU. If a programme is stalling, or a transformation needs someone who can both shape it and run it, let's talk.

What I do

Four ways I help.

The same instinct runs through all of them: be pragmatic, find the real constraint, and deliver something people are genuinely better off for.

i.

Programme Director

Stand up and lead large, complex programmes — governance, delivery framework, the stakeholder relationships and the onshore/offshore structure needed to get moving and stay on track.

ii.

Programme & Delivery Manager

Run delivery end to end, blending Agile, Scrum, SAFe, waterfall and hybrid to fit the client's maturity — not the other way around.

iii.

Delivery Troubleshooter

Parachute into an at-risk programme, work out what's actually wrong, rebuild trust with suppliers and stakeholders, and get it delivering again.

iv.

Business Consultancy

PMO set-up and operation, target operating models, business & IT transformation, and data / trade-compliance — turning intent into a working capability.

A current focus

Data, governance & trade compliance.

When the data underpinning supply chain, finance, suppliers and trade compliance is fragmented — or about to be re-platformed — the rest of the operation can't move with confidence. I'm leading exactly that kind of change now.

01 Master data migration

Migrating from SAP Master Data Management (MDM) to Master Data Governance (MDG) for a top-tier telecommunications operator. Transferring and updating Materials (MM), Plant Maintenance (PM) and Supplier master data across multiple teams and locations.

02 Governance & change

Updating the governance model and change-request workflows alongside the migration — bringing Data Custodians, Trade Compliance (SAP GTS), Supplier Onboarding and Maintenance & Service teams into one operating rhythm.

03 SAP & beyond

Interfacing SAP S/4HANA, PLM and multiple non-SAP systems — keeping master data accurate at source and consistent across the wider estate.

Disciplines: Master data migration (SAP MDM → MDG) · Trade compliance (SAP GTS) · Supplier onboarding · S/4HANA & PLM integration · Cross-functional governance
A specialism worth naming

Supply chain, mobility & physical asset management.

Long before "digital transformation" was a phrase, I was designing and delivering the technology that tracks physical assets, mobilises field workforces and gives the supply chain its visibility — auto-ID, RFID, barcode and mobile. I still do the hard, practical end of it.

01 Physical asset management

Tracking and managing high-value physical assets — returnable containers, brewery kegs, field equipment and devices. Build and install of RFID and barcode solutions including the Carlsberg Tetley keg-management system. Intelligent labelling and food supply-chain monitoring for a major British retail brand.

02 Mobile devices

Senior member of the team delivering 26,500 mobile devices (PDAs) to mobilise Royal Mail Letters' workforce — supplier work streams, logistics, commissioning and early-life support, from procurement through to customer acceptance across hundreds of sites.

03 Supply chain & fulfilment

Electronic proof-of-delivery (ePOD) for a parcels network across 100+ UK sites; Tesco's first RFID solution and Home Shopping logistics monitoring; smart-metering field rollout; and supply-chain tracking for global brands.

Worked with: Royal Mail · Tesco · Prada · Carlsberg Tetley · Marks & Spencer · Diageo · Airbus · Alstom · Pirelli · BAE Systems · Bombardier · Swiss Post · British American Tobacco · National Blood Service

Working life

From electronics apprentice to programme director — and founder.

An engineer's grounding, a deliverer's track record, and a builder's hands. The thread is consistent: understand the real problem, then make something that works.

Founder

Pragticality Ltd.

In 2026 I founded Pragticality, a privately held portfolio of pragmatic, practical ventures — held to one standard: useful to the people who use it, paid for by the people it helps. As founder and product owner I do the real work — product, data discipline, delivery — which keeps me close to the craft I lead in others.

The portfolio's current focus, trade compliance, sits squarely alongside my day-job expertise in master data and trade-compliance transformation. Visit pragticality.com →
